The incident occurred at 2:55 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, on Ivy Hill Road in Woodsburgh.
According to Nassau County Police investigators, four masked individuals tried multiple times to illegally enter the residence, using a crowbar to pry open a rear entrance.
Although they caused significant damage to the property, the group triggered the home’s alarm system and fled on foot.
Police quickly responded, setting up a perimeter and deploying K9 units.
Three of the suspects were located and arrested without incident.
Authorities identified one suspect as 27-year-old Lamont McCall Granton of New Jersey.
The other two suspects are 17-year-old boys whose names were not released due to their age.
During the arrest, police found pills believed to be MDMA in the possession of one of the teens. The fourth suspect remains at large, and the investigation is ongoing.
Lamont McCall Granton was charged with:
- Attempted burglary in the second degree,
- Criminal mischief in the third degree,
- Possession of burglar’s tools,
- Violating Nassau County’s Title 90 mask transparency law.
Juvenile No. 1:
- Attempted burglary in the second degree
- Criminal mischief in the third degree,
- Possession of burglar’s tools,
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree,
- Violating Nassau County’s Title 90 mask transparency law.
Juvenile No. 2:
- Attempted Burglary in the second degree
- Criminal Mischief in the third degree,
- Possession of burglar’s tools,
- Violating Nassau County’s Title 90 mask transparency law.
All three suspects are scheduled for arraignment on Saturday, Nov. 23, at First District Court in Hempstead.
